Vail, Colorado & Eagle County
Aspen to Vail Transportation — Private Transfers
Vail and Aspen are often mentioned in the same breath — two marquee Rocky Mountain resorts — but they sit in different valleys, connected by Glenwood Canyon, Glenwood Springs, and a busy stretch of Interstate 70. The drive is not a "quick hop"; it is a serious mountain transit that deserves planning, the right vehicle, and a driver who has done it hundreds of times in snow, ice, and holiday traffic.
Aspen Alpenglow Limousine specializes in private, scheduled transfers between Aspen/Snowmass and Vail/Beaver Creek/Eagle County. Most one-way moves take roughly two and a half to three hours in clear conditions, longer when I-70 queues form on peak ski weekends or when Glenwood Canyon is under speed control. We build realistic pickup times, monitor CDOT alerts, and stay in touch if your itinerary needs to flex.
Many guests use Eagle County Regional (EGE) as a hinge point: fly into EGE for Vail, ski several days, then continue to Aspen for the back half of a Colorado trip (or the reverse). Because EGE sits along the corridor between the two resorts, a well-designed ground itinerary can save an extra flight segment. We also serve Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch, and Edwards addresses — not just Vail Village drop-offs.
Unlike app-based rideshare at mountain scale, our service is dispatched locally with valley-based chauffeurs, vehicles set up for ski cargo, and predictable pricing for long-distance work. Whether you need a single one-way transfer or a multi-day charter with variable legs, we document the plan up front so there are no surprises at the curb.

Local Tips & Insights
I-70 Mountain Conditions
The Aspen-Vail route uses Glenwood Canyon and I-70, which can close during severe winter storms. We monitor road conditions and communicate proactively for all scheduled transfers.
Eagle County Airport
EGE is located in Glenwood Springs, midway between Aspen and Vail — convenient for guests flying into the valley who want to split a ski trip between both resorts.
Beaver Creek Access
Beaver Creek resort is 10 miles east of Vail — we provide direct Aspen-to-Beaver-Creek transfers as part of our Vail corridor service.
Best Time for the Drive
Glenwood Canyon closes periodically in winter for rockfall and avalanche control. We recommend scheduling afternoon transfers to avoid morning closures and rush hour congestion on I-70.
Common Questions
How long does the Aspen to Vail transfer take?
The Aspen-to-Vail transfer takes approximately 2.5–3 hours under normal conditions via Glenwood Canyon and I-70. During peak ski traffic on I-70 (Friday afternoons, Sunday afternoons) the drive can take 3.5–4 hours. We recommend scheduling accordingly.

Yes — one-way transfers are available in both directions. Many clients fly into Eagle County (EGE) for their Vail portion and arrange transfer to Aspen for the second portion of their Colorado ski trip.
Is Glenwood Canyon safe to drive in winter?
Glenwood Canyon can close during severe winter weather events. We always have contingency routing via alternate passes and monitor CDOT road conditions throughout the day of your transfer. We'll proactively contact you if conditions affect timing.
